What do I do if the real time clock fails diagnostics on my VM700T and the clock reports the year as being in the early 1900's?

Question :

What do I do if the real time clock fails diagnostics on my VM700T and the clock reports the year as being in the early 1900's?

Answer :

There was a Y2K bug in some of the older VM700T's where the date wrapped back around to 1900 when they should have been 2000. This bug can be fixed by replacing U14 on the CPU board with the replacement IC part number 163-0782-03. This part can be ordered directly from Tektronix by calling 1-800-833-9200 and choosing option 1 at the prompt.

Once you have replaced the IC in your VM700T, you can re-set the real-time clock by pressing the "Configure" button and then touching the "Time" button. This will bring you to a screen that allows you to adjust your VM700T's internal clock.
