Tektronix Showcases Optical Test Innovations at ECOC 2017

Cloud-based services such as business networking, mobile connectivity, social media, 4K video, online storage, big data processing, IoT and much more depend on optical networks. Whether its data center interconnects, metro networks or long-haul networks, high-speed optical communication technologies are what make these world-changing services possible. But what makes development of world-changing technologies like high-bandwidth optical networks even possible?

Well, that’s where we come in. At Tektronix, we deliver measurement solutions that eliminate barriers and accelerate global innovation. For more than 20 years, Tektronix has been supporting the ECOC and OFC conferences, and we have seen many changes in the industry over time. Signaling has migrated from simple on-off keying to complex modulation formats such as DP-QPSK, PM-16QAM and beyond. Advanced measurement solutions are required to test the latest communication systems for 100G, 400G, 1Tb/s and above. To this end, Tektronix works globally in collaboration with datacom engineers and standards organizations to help innovate the measurement techniques needed to perform PAM4 Tx and Rx characterization up to 112Gbps/56Gbaud for emerging OIF-CEI and IEEE PAM4 standards.

Tektronix optical test solutions such as this for real-time oscilloscopes will be on display at ECOC 2017 in stand 166.

During the ECOC event taking place Sept. 18-20 in Gothenburg, Sweden, our end-to-end receive and transmit solutions for emerging OIF-CEI and IEEE PAM4 standards will be on full display. Here’s what will be going on throughout the event in stand 166:

  • Tektronix will be showcasing a number of complete optical solution work stations including 400G optical PAM4 characterization, 400G optical PAM 4 validation and debug, 70GHz coherent optical analysis and 100G optical test compliance and debug.
  • Tektronix will host its annual Optical Industry Customer Technology Forum with a number of guest speakers from both academia and commercial research.
  • And for those who go to events for swag, not much beats going home with a new Apple watch. Take our 2017 Optical Quiz and you could be the lucky winner.

Here’s hoping you have a great conference with many opportunities to gain new insights and inspirations that will enable you to realize world-changing technologies.
