What Front Panel Settings are Required to use the VXI PnP drivers for the SourceMeter Instruments?


Selection and configuration of GPIB or RS-232 communication is important. Both are supported by the VXI PnP driver, however, the instrument must be configured from the front panel first.


Use the front panel buttons and select:

  • Menu
  • Communication
  • GPIB or RS-232

Instrument Settings

For GPIB:
For RS-232:

select the address (default is 24)

select SCPI protocol (not 488.1)

BAUD: 9600

BITS: 8

Parity: NONE

Terminator: LF

Flow-CTRL: XON-XOFF
