When you are using wfmDB mode+ where does the scope make its measurements on the waveform since there are multiple samples at any given horizontal or vertical point on the waveform?

Question :

When you are using wfmDB mode+ where does the scope make its measurements on the waveform since there are multiple samples at any given horizontal or vertical point on the waveform?

Answer :

The MEAN of the waveform is used as the points to measure against. If you look at the images below, you can see that when there is very little statistical information to work with the 10% and 90% are placed in what would amount to roughly a best case position, as seen in the first image. Once there is a good distribution of data in each of the vertical or horizontal bins to work with, the system places the measurement point right at the mean of the distribution, as seen in the second image.
